It is also incredible reliable as long as there is the Sun there will be solar power, even on a grey or cloudy day. Solar energy has been made use of for thousands of years, for example when magnifying glasses were used to concentrate the sun’s rays. Today we use Photovoltaic cells to generate electricity.

One common use of solar energy today is to provide power to places where traditional power supplies cannot. These places can include remote locations such as in space or desolate islands. It is used to heat water which is used for cooking. It is believed that in the near future solar energy electricity will be able to be produced for the same price as we are paying for gas-generated electricity now.
